1. Charles Bannerman – 67.35% (Australia):
Charles Bannerman holds the record for highest percentage of runs in a completed Test innings. The occasion was the one which would always be special in the history of cricket as it was the first ever Test played between Australia and England in Melbourne in 1877. The Aussie opener scored an unbeaten 165. It accounted for 67.34 % of his team’s total of 245. More than a century has passed and over 2000 Tests have been played, but this record has remained immortal.
