Wouldn’t it be fun being Virat Kohli and smashing the bowlers all around the ground? How many of you would love to step into the shoes of Kagiso Rabada and hurl some ear-whistling bouncers at the batsmen? While all of this and much more might not be possible in reality for most of us, the new-age cricket games actually let you get as close as possible.

Even though it was released towards the end of 2016, Don Bradman Cricket 2017 continues to be one of the most popular cricket games around. Developed by Big Ant Studios, it is highly rated by the critics and is available on Microsoft Windows, Play Station 4 and Xbox One. The game has got new batting shots like the helicopter shot and new visual, special effects.

There is a career mode in this game which is quite interesting. In this, players can start their career from the local level and choose the regions that they want to play for before they get called for domestic and international duties. The teams are also dynamic; the other players retire during the course of a player’s career.

There would be phases where there is a slump in form. Moreover, the user can create his own stadium to recreate their own local cricket grounds. However, the game doesn’t have real player likenesses because it doesn’t have the licences for the same.

You can go on a World Tour and compete as one of the 16 countries. In the process, you can take part in as many as 60 challenges and matches.

You can play against your friends or even go solo with different games types like T10, T20, ODI and Indoor Cricket Rules. It has got full keyboard support and the progress can be saved on the cloud. This game can be played on PC as well as PS3.

Big Bash Boom is an arcade-style cricket game and is quite unique from the others. Bobble-headed players are the biggest attraction of this game and it is fully licenced. This means that the players, squads, teams and stadiums are all the same as they are in BBL and WBBL 2018/19. There are special effects like flaming trails when a player hits a six, beach-ball-sized cricket powerups amongst many others.

This game is available on a wide variety of platforms including Microsoft Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation4, PS4, Sony PlayStation 4, Steam PC and Xbox One. Along with the batsmen, there are powerups available for the bowlers as well.

While the ball size becomes huge when a batsman uses a powerup, the bat size shrinks to that of a stump when the powerup is used by a bowler. This minimalistic game is a lot of fun when you play it with your friend.
