Scoring a century in ODIs is by no means an easy task. The modern day game demands the century to be scored in real quick time. While the runs add to the total, the faster that they come, the more competitive the game becomes. However, scoring a century with a healthy strike rate is not just about hitting wildly, it comes down to taking calculated aggression with a dash of luck on your side. That said, here is a list of players who have scored the most 100s with a strike rate over 100. 5. Jesse Ryder – 3: New Zealand’s Jesse Ryder. Ironically all his centuries have been with a strike rate of 100 or more. His highest ODI ton came against Pakistan at Auckland in February 2011 where he made 107 off just 93 balls. His compilation of 107 included 7 fours and 6 sixes. He has scored the other two hundreds against India and West Indies. 4. JP Duminy – 4: South African batsman Jean-Paul Duminy. Therefore, it is no surprise that Duminy has 4 tons that boast of a strike rate of more than 100. Duminy will always be remembered for his innings of 150 against the Netherlands at Amstelveen in May 2013. Striking at a rate of 122, Duminy smashed 8 fours and 5 sixes en route to a wonderfully compiled 150 not out. 3. Shahid Afridi – 6: Pakistan’s cricketer Shahid Afridi. His average strike rate in ODIs is 117. Afridi lit up Dambulla in the Asia Cup tie against Bangladesh. Playing in trying conditions, he smashed 124 off just 60 balls to ensure that his side reached a mammoth total of 385. His innings included 17 fours and 4 sixes. 2. Ijaz Ahmed – 10: Ijaz Ahmed. Having been one of the first players of his era to show aggressive intent, Ijaz has 10 centuries to his name, all of which boast of a strike rate more than 100. His knock of 139 against India at Lahore in 1997 will always be remembered. He smashed 9 sixes en route to an easy Pakistan win, striking at a massive 165. 1. AB de Villiers – 24: South African captain AB de Villiers. (Photo by Marty Melville/AFP/Getty Images) One of the most destructive batsmen of all time, AB de Villiers has a rather rare distinction. All the 24 centuries made by him have boasted of a strike rate of more than or equal to 100. Apart from the mind-blowing fastest century made, de Villiers’ highest score came against the West Indies in the 2015 World Cup down under. Striking at 245, he decimated the West Indian bowling attack as he smashed 17 sixes en route to his total of 162. De Villiers remained unbeaten on the score as the Proteas won by 257 runs.
