2. 22 runs – Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai 2022
In match 40 of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans (GT) were up against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede Stadium. SRH batted first and posted a mammoth total of 195, courtesy of 65 from Abhishek Sharma and 56 from Aiden Markram, with the late flourish from Shashank Singh (25*off 6).
GT had a fine start, with the partnership of 69 between Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill, with the latter getting dismissed by a peach of a delivery from SRH pacer Umran Malik. The subsequent batters, Hardik Pandya and David Miller could not replicate their past performances. However, it was a terrific inning of 68 from 38 from Saha, which helped them to be up and running in the final five overs.
With 22 needed off six balls, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan were at the crease. After hitting a six on the first ball, Tewatia went for a single. In the next ball, Rashid hit a six, and then missed a bouncer in the fourth ball. However, he hit the next two balls for maximums and sealed the victory for the team. This was the third last over finish for the Gujarat franchise in IPL 2022, with the team ending on a winning side on all occasions.
