Twenty20 is an unjust format, it’s unjust to the bowlers; one – they are expected to be right on the money from the very first ball, two – they have just 4 overs in their quota, which doesn’t give them a chance to settle down and makes it too demanding. Plus the fact that all the batsmen come out with singular intent to park the ball out of the ground makes it an even challenging task. But they have their own hacks, their own tricks to take on the challenges and here we laud the most successful ones of them all. The T20I bowlers of the year 2015. 1. His tally of 14 wickets from 7 matches makes him the highest wicket taker among all Test-playing nations in 2015. His figures of 5/23 against West Indies in Durban this year are the best by a bowler in 2015. With a sensational average of 11.78 and a more than decent economy of 7.07, David Wiese is the top bowler in T20Is in the year 2015. 2. Graeme Cremer (Zimbabwe): Zimbabwe cricketer Graeme Cremer. He has very good numbers to back him up with an economy of 6.57 and a healthy average of 15.50. His figures of 3/18 against the Indians helped the home team register an unlikely victory over the subcontinent giants. 3. Dawlat Zadran (Afghanistan): (© JEKESAI NJIKIZANA/AFP/Getty Images) Apart from an impressive outing in the World Cup, Zadran has had a pretty good run in T20Is in 2015 as well. He picked up 13 wickets from 8 matches with an average of 17.38 and economy of 7.29. Though most of his wickets came against associate nations, his 5 wickets in the 2-match series against Zimbabwe ensured a historic clean sweep for the Afghans. His best spell of bowling came against the Dutch in the World Cup Qualifiers when he recorded figures of 3 for 17. 4. Sohail Tanvir (Pakistan): Sohail Tanvir. (Photo Source: AFP) The unorthodox leftie has been in the scheme of things for some time now for Pakistan. In 2015, he has taken 11 wickets from the 11 T20I he played in. His average stands at 21.90. Although his economy of 7.77 is a bit on the higher side, he still picked up wickets regularly for his team. Tanvir’s best spell of the year reads 3/29. His form is going to be crucial for Pakistan’s chances in the 2016 World T20. 5. Aaron Phangiso (South Africa): Aaron Phangiso. (Photo Source: AFP) With 9 wickets from 6 T20Is, 2015 has been rewarding for the talented spinner from South Africa. Aaron Phangiso’s average this year is a pretty decent at 19.55. Being a spinner in a format cruel for the bowlers, his economy of 7.65 doesn’t seem that bad. His best bowling figures of 3 for 30 came against Bangladesh.
