Top 5 teams with most number of consecutive ODI wins: Winning one or two matches in a row in ODI is a feat in itself, but winning more than 7 or 8 in a row needs to be documented for the future generations. 5. Australia 11
From: 203 runs v Scotland Basseterre 14 Mar 2007 to 53 runs v Sri Lanka Bridgetown 28 Apr 2007
Australia began their 11 match winning streak with a win over Scotland in ICC World Cup 2007. The streak remained intact for the whole World Cup, where they won every match they played including the final, lifting the trophy defeating Sri Lanka in their 11th match which was the last of their streak. Australia were undefeated from the match against Pakistan in 1999 World Cup and remained undefeated until the match against Pakistan in the 2011 World Cup.
4. West Indies 11
From: 8 wickets v England Lord’s 4 Jun 1984 to 82 runs v Sri Lanka Perth 2 Feb 1985
West Indies was the most dominating team in the history of cricket from 1970-1994 during which they were undefeated in Tests for a period of 15 years from 1975-1990. They also won 11 straight ODIs from 1984-1985. Their streak began with an 8 wicket win over England in the 3rd ODI of the Texaco Trophy in 1984. Viv Richards (84) and Malcolm Marshall (3/38) were the heroes of that victory. Their streak lasted till the 1985 Benson and Hedges World Series Cup where they beat Sri Lanka at Perth. The hero there were Larry Gomes (101).

From: 31 runs v India Jaipur 18 Nov 2007 to 70 runs v Bangladesh Dhaka 8 Jun 2008
Pakistan’s run of 12 consecutive wins began against arch rivals India when they defeated them in Jaipur in 2007 by 31 runs with Mohd. Yousuf scoring 89, and Sohail Tanvir taking 4/53. Their streak lasted till 1st match of the Kitply Cup in Bangladesh against the hosts. They defeated Bangladesh by 70 runs with Salman Butt making 70 and Shahid Afridi taking 3/19.

From: 3 wickets v England Centurion 13 Feb 2005 to 4 wickets v New Zealand Port Elizabeth 30 Oct 2005
South Africa made their record of 12 wins in the year of 2005. It started with a win against England at Centurion. South Africa chased down England’s 240 despite a 116 from Kevin Pietersen. South Africa made their runs thanks to 62* from Ashwell Prince. Their 12th and last straight win came against New Zealand at Port Elizabeth. They beat New Zealand who had scored 243 by 4 wickets with help from Herschelle Gibbs’ 81 runs.

Australia holds the world record for 21 consecutive ODI wins. Their incredible streak started with a 7 run win over England in which Damien Martyn scored 101* and Brad Hogg took 3/55 to secure a close win for Australia in the VB series. Their streak continued through the 2003 World Cup in South Africa in which they won each and every match including the final against India, which they won by 125 runs and picked up their 2nd straight and 3rd overall World Title. Their streak’s 21st and last win came when they beat the West Indies in the West Indies in the 4th match of their series. Australia scored 286 thanks to 84 from Adam Gilchrist. They bowled out West Indies for 219 runs winning by 67 runs with Jason Gillespie and Ian Harvey taking 2 wickets a piece.
