(159 for 4 to 198 all out)
India and Australia featured in the final of a Tri-Series involving New Zealand. Batting first, Australia registered 235-5 in their quota of 50 overs. After early wickets, Tendulkar and Dravid set the platform for the Indian chase. At 159-4 with Badani and Dravid well set, India looked well on course to achieve a famous win.
Badani then lost his wicket and was soon followed by Dravid as India descended from 159-4 to 198 all out. Indian lower order deteriorated, as Harvey and Clarke accounted for all 6 wickets, inspiring Australia to a 37 runs victory in the final.
