This young left arm spinner from Gujarat, Axar Patel was in the wilderness before the last season of the IPL. The youngster picked cricket as his father wanted him to when there was a dilemma between engineering and the sport. The twenty one year old signed a contract with Kings XI Punjab and has not looked back since then.
In the only season that he has played so far, Axar grabbed the spotlight with great batting and equally able bowling, displaying great maturity. The youngster got a call up to the National team for India’s tour of Bangladesh in 2014. He was also a part of the 15 members Indian team that went to Australia and New Zealand to defend their title in the world cup 2015.
