<p>They are currently occupying second place in the ICC World Test Championship. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-teams/new-zealand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>New Zealand</strong></a> have so far featured in 11 games in the ongoing tournament. While the Kane Williamson-led side has won 7 matches, they have lost 4. The Kiwis are just behind the Indian side and have accumulated 420 points thus far. And, in the 7 matches, New Zealand have used as many as 21 players.</p>
<p>Kane Williamson has been the stand-out performer for the Black Caps as far as the willow is concerned. The Kiwi skipper has scored 817 runs in the tournament at an average of 58.35. Williamson has also scored 3 centuries and a half-century in the 14 innings that he has played thus far. On the bowling front, Tim Southee has emerged as the highest wicket-taker for the Kiwis in the World Test Championship, having scalped 51 wickets at an average of 20.66.</p>
<p>New Zealand enjoyed a fruitful home season in the last couple of months. They have won all four of the matches that they played at home this summer, walloping both the West Indies outfit as well as the Pakistan side. They do not have any more matches left in the current World Test Championship. Tom Latham and Ross Taylor have featured in the most number of matches for the Kiwis in the tournament with each of them playing 11 Tests.</p>
<h3>3. Sri Lanka</h3>

<p>At the third spot is a side that has so far struggled in the World Test Championship. The Islanders have played 7 matches thus far, but have managed to win just one match. Sri Lanka have lost 5 matches and drawn one game, and have accumulated 80 points in the tournament till now.</p>
<p>In the 7 matches that they have played, Sri Lanka have used 21 players thus far. The highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka with the willow is Dimuth Karunaratne. The Lankan skipper has featured in 6 matches in the World Test Championship and has scored 480 runs at an average of 43.63, including 2 hundreds and 2 fifties. On the bowling front, Lasith Embuldeniya has been the pick of the bowlers for the Lankans, having scalped 16 wickets thus far.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-19-censors-niroshan-dickwellas-name-from-its-gaming-platform/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Niroshan Dickwella</strong></a> and Kusal Mendis are the two players who have featured in every match that Sri Lanka have played in the ICC World Test Championship. Sri Lanka will next take on Joe Root and his men in the second and final Test of the short two-match series at Galle on January 22, 2021.</p>
<h3>2. India</h3>

<p>At the second place comes the side that created history by beating Australia at The Gabba for the first time in more than three decades. The Indian side gave it their everything in spite of a barrage of injury concerns that affected them right throughout the Border-Gavaskar trophy. In fact, the Indian side finds themselves in second place in this list mainly because of the fact that they used as many as 20 players in the 4-match Test series against the kangaroos.</p>
<p>In the World Test Championship, the Indian side has used 23 players in the 13 matches that they have played thus far. For India, the highest run-scorer with the willow is <a href="https://www.facebook.com/crictracker/photos/4267588926605129" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Ajinkya Rahane</strong></a>. The stylish right-hander has played 13 innings in the World Test Championship till now and has scored close to 1,000 runs (983). Rahane has amassed 3 centuries and 5 fifties in the 22 innings that he has played in the championship. On the bowling front, Mohammed Shami has scalped the most wickets. The right-arm pacer played has featured in 10 matches and has picked up 36 wickets.</p>
<p>For India, only Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have featured in every single game that India has played in the World Test Championship. India has, so far, played 13 matches in the tournament and has won 9, lost 3, and drawn 1 game. Next up for India is a grueling four-match Test series against England on home soil.</p>

<p>At the top spot, we have the South African cricket team. In the 9 matches that the Proteas have played, they have used as many as 23 players. The South African side currently occupies fifth place in the points table and has won 3 out of the 9 matches that they have played thus far.</p>
<p>The highest run-scorer for South Africa with the willow has been Dean Elgar. The elegant left-hander has played 17 innings thus far and has scored 729 runs at an average of 48.60. Elgar has also scored 2 hundreds and 2 fifties in the competition. With the ball, the standout performer has been Anrich Nortje. The bowler has made the lives of several batsmen uncomfortable with his searing pace and has scalped 30 wickets in the tournament.</p>
<p>For the Proteas, Dean Elgar, Quinton De Kock, and Faf Du Plessis have featured in every match that South Africa has played in the championship. South Africa will next take on Pakistan in a two-match Test series that gets underway on January 26, 2021.</p>
