The dashing South African opener Gibbs was a sensation in ODI cricket. He had a great liking towards shorter formats of the game though he was equally good in Test cricket as well. Gibbs holds the record for Six Sixes in an over which he did in the World Cup 2007 against the Netherlands side. Gibbs was also the protagonist in South Africa’s historic chase of 438 runs as he had played a scintillating knock of 175 runs in the game. His career was cut short by controversies but he represented South Africa in 248 ODI’s and piled up 8,094 runs with 21 centuries to his credit.
