Top 7 batsmen fastest to 21 ODI tons: ODI cricket is a dynamic format which requires adaptation, application, and ability to build up an innings by the batters. A batsman is regarded great only if he has the audacity to come up with top-notch performances at regular intervals. In the history of ODI cricket many batsmen have come and vanished but only few have been able to make 20 centuries. He had a great liking towards shorter formats of the game though he was equally good in Test cricket as well. Gibbs was also the protagonist in South Africa’s historic chase of 438 runs as he had played a scintillating knock of 175 runs in the game. His career was cut short by controversies but he represented South Africa in 248 ODI’s and piled up 8,094 runs with 21 centuries to his credit. 5. He edged out Sachin Tendulkar who achieved the feat in 200 innings by a fair margin. Playing his 190th game for the Proteas de Villiers achieved the landmark in just 183 innings and is number three on the list behind teammate Hashim Amla and Virat Kohli. Kohli is already hailed as one of the greats of ODI cricket and why wouldn’t he? If the team is struggling, Virat can anchor the innings. If the team needs quick runs in the end he can pull off that as well. And most importantly Kohli is masterly adept at chasing any target for the team which makes him a valuable asset for the team and dangerous proposition for the opponent team. The Protea Test skipper is a run-machine for the side and is making new records in ODI cricket match after match. In 116 ODI matches he has scored 21 centuries and he averages nearly 55 in ODI cricket while his strike rate is also touching the 90 mark. He is indeed a marvelous player in this format of the game.
