Steven Finn had 2 wickets to his name when he started the final over of the Australian innings of the second match of 2015 World Cup. He dismissed Brad Haddin on the 4th ball of the over for 31 and then went on to take 2 more wickets of Glen Maxwell and Mitchell Johnson to complete a hat-trick. He took the last 5 Australian wickets to fall.

Steven Finn became the first English bowler and 8th bowler overall to take a World cup hat-trick. This also the most expensive 5 wicket haul to contain a hat-trick. Despite his efforts, England lost the game by 111 runs thanks to 5/33 by Mitchell Marsh.
