Angelo Mathews has never been the one has grabbed limelight with flamboyant knocks and nor he has been regarded as one of the best batters in the world. <p>From being a brash outspoken teenager to becoming the Test captain of the country, Kohli’s journey so far is really inspiring. He has all the qualities that are required to beat the competition and become the numero uno. He is aggressive, passionate, bares his emotions and knows how to outclass the opponents.</p>
<p>He as been plundering runs and centuries like it&#8217;s the easiest job to do in the world. He currently has 25 tons to his name and is already done with crossing the 7,000 runs mark while averaging over 50 runs.</p>

<p>Out of the current crop of batters in the Pakistan cricket team, Ahmed Shehzad happens to be the most promising batsmen. An aggressive opening batsman by nature, he made his debut in the year 2009.</p>
<p>Initially, he did not make most of the early chances and failed to justify his raw talent. However, later on, he grew in confidence which reflected in his performances. Brilliant centuries against Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand elevated his stature and made him an integral part of the Pakistani team.</p>
<h4><strong>3. Australia &#8211; Steven Smith</strong></h4>

<p>Steven Smith escalated through the ranks in the Australian team in a very short span of time. Smith relies on his unorthodox batting technique to squash the bowlers around the ground in the 50 over format as well as in the T20I’s.</p>
<p>Smith began to show the glimpses of his batting talent in early 2013 and has been prolific with the bat since. His most memorable performance came in the year 2014 when he was in the best of his form.</p>
<p>He carried forward his golden form in the 2015 World Cup, scoring two centuries in the mega event. The tournament was eventually won by Australia.</p>
<h4><strong>4. West Indies- Marlon Samuels</strong></h4>

<p>Marlon Samuels, undoubtedly, has been the most consistent West Indian batsman in the past few years. West Indies have never had a batsman on whom they could rely completely in recent years.</p>
<p>To be sensible, any cricket fan would agree that there has been a dearth of consistent run-scorers for the West Indian team in the past decade. The blame can put on the poor management or the player-board conflicts.</p>
<p>However, Marlon Samuels has managed to contribute to his team consistently and has been their saviour in tough matches and has managed to stay away from creating or getting involved in controversies like in the past.</p>
<h4><strong>5. South Africa &#8211; Hashim Amla</strong></h4>

<p>Hashim Amla, with his Zen-like calmness and well-poised temperament, has shouldered the responsibility of an opener for his national side with utmost responsibility.</p>
<p>In a highly competitive team full of live-wired batsmen, Amla has singled out himself from them with his wristy stroke play and consistent run-making ability. He has emerged as the best batsmen for South Africa in ODI’s in recent years. Apparently, Amla also has the best all-time batting average in ODI’s.</p>
<h4><strong>6. New Zealand &#8211; Kane Williamson</strong></h4>

<p>Ever since his debut, Kane Williamson has matured extremely. Williamson had a dismal start to his ODI career but improved his performances considerably in the coming years and has become very consistent since for the Blackcaps since the year 2014.</p>
<p>Two streaks of five or more fifty-plus scores in the past 20 months proves his hunger for run-scoring. The retirement of Brendon McCullum has added more responsibility on his shoulders. The rising young gun is now the Black Caps skipper in all formats.  </p>
<h4><strong>7. Bangladesh &#8211; Mahmudullah Riyad</strong></h4>

<p>Mahmudullah Riyad made his ODI debut long back in the year 2007. Basically a middle order batsman and a useful off-break bowler, Riyad is one of those Bangladeshi batsmen who show immense promise for the future.</p>
<p>His most remarkable achievement for Bangladesh came in the 2015 Cricket World Cup where he scored stunning centuries against England and New Zealand respectively.</p>
<p>He scored 365 runs at a staggering average of 73.00 in six matches and was the chief contributor for Bangladesh in the tournament. He has evolved as a player with all his overall international experience and promises better performances in the future.</p>
<h4><strong>8. Sri Lanka &#8211; Angelo Mathews</strong></h4>

<p>Angelo Mathews has never been the one has grabbed limelight with flamboyant knocks and nor he has been regarded as one of the best batters in the world. Angelo Mathews has been a silent work horse for the Sri Lankan teams. When everyone fails, Mathews is the one who carries the innings on his shoulders most of the times.</p>
<p>A robust batting technique combined with a calm temperament has made him earned him the reputation of being a crisis man for the Lankan Lions. The skipper of the side has seen Sri Lankan side change over the years.</p>
<p>He didn’t have much reason to be worried as a batsman when the likes of Jayawardene and Sangakkara played but after their retirement, much of the batting responsibility has fallen on him. But, Mathews faced the challenged wonderfully and oversaw the transition of his team. His compact batting in the middle order meant that the youngsters  in the team never felt the pressure most of the times.<br>

<h4><strong>9. England- Joe Root</strong></h4>

<p>The talented Joe Root has emerged as the newest batting star for England. He has been sometimes inconsistent but has managed to outshine his counterparts in the ODI format regularly.</p>
<p>He comes out to bat with a slight grin on his face which surely makes the bowlers sweat out of nervousness and is very difficult to bully. He has been not utilised well by England in the limited overs format and have used him more often in the Test format.</p>
<p>But, he has tried and made most of the opportunities he has got so far in the 50 over format. Centuries against top nations like New Zealand, Sri Lanka and India proves his ability. He was also announced as the Wisden Cricketer of the year in 2014.</p>
