England players to sport ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo on their shirt collars against West Indies
- The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday that the England Test side will be wearing a ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo on their jerseys during their Test series against West Indies.
- Hosts England are scheduled to face West Indies for a three-match Test series starting from July 8 at Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
- The West Indies tour of England will mark the comeback of the game of cricket after a span of four months.

Despite BCCI’s request to postpone, PCB keen on hosting remaining PSL 2020 matches this year in November
- The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to host the remaining matches of the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the month of November.
- Back in March, the tournament came to a halt after the round-robin stage. Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and the Peshawar Zalmi had qualified for the knockouts, but the coronavirus pandemic turned detrimental.
- After a few games took place behind closed doors, the authorities had to postpone the T20 league.

‘Sarfaraz should’ve been given more time’ – Inzamam-ul-Haq feels Pakistan played under pressure in 2019 World Cup
- It was a forgetful 2019 World Cup for Pakistan as the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side finished fifth in a group stage by winning five matches out of nine, failing to advance in the semi-finals.
- Many Pakistan players including skipper Sarfaraz were scrutinized for their performances at the showpiece event.
- Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq, who remained chief selector of the national side from 2016 till the 2019 World Cup, reflected back on the mega-event and said that there was a sense of insecurity among players during that period.

‘There’s no need to fear Jofra Archer’- Shoaib Akhtar unimpressed after Younis Khan praises England speedster
- Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan fast bowler, said that Younis Khan, another retired Pakistan cricketer, wasn’t right in praising England seamer Jofra Archer.
- Khan, who was recently appointed as Pakistan’s batting coach, said that the Barbados-born Archer has a good temperament, especially after he helped the Three Lions win the World Cup with the Super Over at the Lord’s.
- Archer was arguably the Brits’ star bowler in the mega event after making his debut in May 2019. Khan, the leading run-scorer for Pakistan in Test cricket, said that Archer’s high-arm action helps him in generating seam and swing.

‘I want to be back on ground like Sreesanth’ – Ankeet Chavan requests BCCI, MCA to reconsider his life ban
- Former Indian cricketer Ankeet Chavan has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to reconsider the life ban imposed on him.
- In 2013, Chavan was accused of being involved in IPL spot-fixing scandal and as a result, he was banned from playing any form of cricket for the rest of his life.
- BCCI’s disciplinary committee had found three Rajasthan Royals players– S. Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila guilty of being a part of the spot-fixing.

‘Would like to know who was involved’ – BCCI after a T20 tournament in Chandigarh gets streamed online as Sri Lankan league
- A T20 match played near Chandigarh amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in an unusual occurrence, the game was streamed online as a Sri Lankan T20 League game.
- The T20 match, which was played in Sawara village, 16 km from Chandigarh, was streamed as a ‘UVA T20 League’ encounter.
- The incident caught the attention of BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit as well as Punjab Police.

Michael Hussey picks his ‘Fearsome IPL XI’, appoints MS Dhoni as the skipper
- Michael Hussey, the former Australian cricketer, has named his all-time Fearsome eleven in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
- As the openers, he went for Rohit Sharma and David Warner. Rohit is the most successful skipper in the tournament, having won the title in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 respectively.
- Warner, on the other hand, is the leading run-scorer among foreign players in the IPL.

PCB mum on Grant Flower’s ‘knife to the throat’ comments against Younis Khan
- Grant Flower, the former batting coach of the Pakistan cricket team, recently made some starting revelations, saying that Younis Khan once held a knife by his throat for trying to give him some advice on batting.
- The incident was said to have happened in the Brisbane Test during Pakistan’s tour of Australia in 2016-17.
- Flower, who’s also a former Zimbabwe all-rounder, said that the situation had worsened to the extent that Mickey Arthur, the then head coach, had to intervene.

- Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistan cricketer, reckons that Babar Azam has an edge over Virat Kohli, taking into account their initial days on the field.
- The 25-year-old Babar is currently the ICC’s fifth, third and top-ranked batsman in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively.
- Virat, on the other hand, is ranked first and second in ODIs and Tests even as in T20Is, he is 10th in the rankings.
