New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been missing on the action since the commencement of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Earlier this year, Kane suffered an elbow injury and it aggravated in March. Thus, the batsman had to give the Bangladesh tour of New Zealand a miss.
Williamson is yet to regain his fitness and for the same reason, he missed the first two games of IPL franchise Sunriers Hyderabad against Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The 30-year-old is being dearly missed by the Orange Army as they lost both their games in IPL 2021 owing to a horrific collapse of the batting order.
Kane can play the role of anchor for SRH and thus the fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback on the field. On Friday, April 16, the right-hander gave an update on his injury saying that he is recovering well and is focusing on getting pain-free. The Black Caps skipper also revealed that he is hoping to get fit for the game within a week.
“Recovery is going really well and you know it’s been focused to get pain-free as quickly as possible, and we are certainly tracking really nicely and hoping to be fit and ready within the week,” Kane Williamson said in a video uploaded on SRH’s Twitter handle.
