The Indian team has been going on from strength to strength in all of the formats in international cricket. However, they are missing a couple of key members in their winning combination, both of whom are undergoing rehabilitation for lower back issues. Those members are all-rounder Hardik Pandya and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who are on their way to recovery.

Hardik Pandya first experienced trouble in his back during the 2018 Asia Cup when he went down during a match against Pakistan. He went for rehab in NCA and consulted doctors and was able to come back to cricket against New Zealand in 2019 and played for India in the ICC World Cup 2019. However, he went down again after the tournament and had to go to London in order to have surgery on his back and had to learn to walk again.

He has been sharing the video of his recovery with his fans on social media. Similarly, Jasprit Bumrah was also diagnosed with stress fractures in the lower back during medical examination and thanks to proper consultation with doctors, he avoided surgery on his back. Meanwhile, he has also kept his fans abreast of his recovery including a broken middle stump a few days ago.

Recently, both Hardik and Bumrah were seen as having a practice session as they strive for the cent per cent fitness. They were joined by Hardik’s elder brother Krunal, who was dropped from the Indian T20I team for the upcoming series against the West Indies. He has been unable to pick wickets against South Africa and Bangladesh T20I encounters some time back. Hardik Pandya shared a photo on his Twitter with Krunal and Bumrah with the caption reading “Training in good company today 🔥”

Meanwhile, the Indian team is preparing for the upcoming limited-overs series against West Indies and though Bumrah is near 100% fitness, the selection panel has indicated that he won’t be risked for the series and is slated to make his comeback on the tour against New Zealand in 2020.

Virat Kohli and co. are slated to play 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches on the tour, with the five-day affairs being part of the ICC World Test Championship. India reigns supreme on the points table of WTC with 360 points from 7 Tests with 7 wins.
