Kannada movie industry suffered a massive loss on Friday (October 29) as veteran actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away in the evening time. The South Indian film star suffered a heart attack in the morning following which he was taken to hospital in Bengaluru. The Kannada actor was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where a team of doctors was monitoring his situation.
Unfortunately, the health care workers couldn’t save his life and the Indian movie industry lost another gem. As soon as the sad news broke, social media went berserk as condolence messages poured in from different quarters. Several prominent names from the world of sports, politics, and cinema also took to Twitter and expressed grief over the sudden demise. Indian Prime Minister called Rajkumar’s death ‘a cruel faith of reality’.
Puneeth Rajkumar was brought to the emergency department at 11:40 am: Bengaluru Hospital
Meanwhile, the hospital has revealed that the actor was in a critical situation since the time he arrived in the hospital. “Puneeth Rajkumar was brought to the emergency department at 11:40 am. He was non-responsive and was in Cardiac Asystole and Advanced cardiac resuscitation has been initiated,” the hospital said in a statement.
Having worked in the movie industry since childhood, Puneeth Rajkumar gave a plethora of blockbusters in his glorious career. He was particularly known for his versatility as the actor did movies of genres with brilliance. While he was intense as ever in serious films, Rajkumar did a commendable job in some comic roles as well. Not to forget, Rajkumar also impressed with his singing abilities and gave some popular music tracks as well.
Speaking of the highlight of Rajkumar’s career, Arasu, Milana, Jackie, Hudugaru, Rana Vikrama, Raajakumara and Natasaarvabhowma were some of his major hits. It has to be noted that Rajkumar showcased his acting prowess in childhood itself.
He was awarded the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in N. Lakshminarayan’s film Bettada Hoovu. With Rajkumar being such a massive figure in the movie industry, several fans were left heartbroken after coming across his demise. Many members of the cricket fraternity also paid tributes.
