‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo’- Kolkata Knight Riders, ever since the 2008 edition, have embraced the slogan wholeheartedly. Whenever a Knights’ batsman finds the boundary, takes a wicket or win a game, the DJ plays the song and the KKR fans erupt in joy and ecstasy. However, this time around, the Men in Gold and Purple have decided to add a new flavour, bringing forth a new slogan.

The IPL gets underway on Saturday, September 19 in the UAE and Dinesh Karthik and Co are sweating it out at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The Knights, along with Mumbai Indians (MI), are in Abu Dhabi even as the rest of the six franchises are in Dubai.

As far as the new slogan is concerned, KKR posted it on their official Twitter handle. Eoin Morgan, Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine and skipper Karthik can be seen, posing with a fan on the extreme left. The slogan reads, “Tu Fan Nahi… Toofan Hain”.

Here’s KKR’s tweet: –

Apart from Narine, Morgan, Karthik and Kuldeep, KKR have some other prominent names as well. Andre Russell was both their leading run-scorer and wicket-taker last season, fetching him the award for the Most Valuable Player (MVP). When Dre-Russ hits the ball, it stays hit, something which can be comprehended from the 52 sixes he smashed last season at a strike-rate of over 200.

Despite his superhuman efforts, the Knights failed to make the playoffs. The team lost six matches in a row in the round-robin stage owing to which they kept sliding down the barrel. Russell is again expected to play a massive part in the upcoming tournament.

In the auction that took place in December 2019, the Knights also roped in Pat Cummins at a whopping INR 15.5 crores and he will hold the key for the team as well. The Knights also have Tom Banton, who already have come up the ranks in the last 12 months or so.

KKR start their campaign on Wednesday, September 23 against Rohit Sharma’s MI in Abu Dhabi. The Knights are the two-time champions and are one of the most successful teams in the history of the championship.
