Leaving all the controversies behind, Hardik Pandya made his come back into the Indian team in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand. Straightaway after he was flown in, the all-rounder was included in the eleven. He changed the dynamics of the team with his presence being equally capable with the bat as well as the ball.
He brings in great stability to the side and adds balance. Even though he didn’t get an opportunity to bat, Pandya bowled his full quota of 10 overs. He conceded 45 runs and picked up two wickets in the match. Furthermore, he was electric on the field and pouched an acrobatic catch. However, former cricketer and current analyst Sanjay Manjrekar is of the opinion that the 25-year-old won’t fit into the eleven once Jasprit Bumrah is back.
Shami, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Chahal & Kuldeep — Manjrekar’s bowling attack
Sanjay feels that Bumrah will take the place of Hardik Pandya in the Indian team once he returns. According to his tweet, Shami, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Chahal and Kuldeep are his five preferred balance. This essentially means that India either goes into a game without the services of an all-rounder. Otherwise, Hardik Pandya will have to compete for spots with Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik and Kedar Jadhav.
“Tough one for India – Fitting in Hardik in a full strength Indian team with Bumrah available. Shami, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Chahal & Kuldeep now indispensable. Hardik must therefore compete more as batsman with Rayudu, Kedar and Karthik. Your thoughts?#WorldCup2019,” wrote Manjrekar in his tweet.

However, this has brought out severe criticism and the fans absolutely lashed out at the former cricketer. They claimed that Hardik is an indispensable part of the Indian team. Some also suggested that Bhuvneshwar Kumar should sit out while others said that it’d be a recipe for a disaster if the tail starts at number seven.
Here is how Twitterati reacted:
No. Hardik plays at 7. As a 3rd seaming option. Play 2 out of Bhuvi, Shami and Bumrah. Provides more balance.

Chahal and Kuldeep will not always play together. India will drop 1 of the three pacers for Hardik. Hardik will play, at any cost. W/o him, it's not a FULK STRENGTH squad. Work on your cricket knowledge a bit, rather than knowing who is from Mumbai and who is not.

My thoughts always stand that you should stay outside commentary box, peace for all of us.

No, cant have a tail that starts from No.7. Recipe for disaster.

Sir. @imVkohli wants Hardik pandya @hardikpandya7 in team no matter what.
Kohli went on to the extent of relieving the suspension of Hardik just to make the balance of team right.
So whether we want hardik of not , he is mandatory in playing 11 in WC 2019— Jon targaryen (@Mayank09329390) January 28, 2019
Ridiculous. India will have a tail longer than hanuman’s if they play all 5 bowlers. There should be 2 pacer + 2 spinner + 1 AR (Pandya) or 3 pacer + 1 spinner + 1 AR (Jadeja)

nah hardik is a must in the team lolz is this even a debate ffs that catch off Williamson is enough and took 2 wkts and finisher as well u wouldn't want to play 6 batters in a ODI seriously!!
