Twitter bashes BCCI for asking Cricket Australia to remove beef from menu
The tour starts on November 21 with the first T20I in Brisbane.
India recently played a two-match Test and a five-match ODI series against Windies and won both of them. They are now scheduled to play three T20Is against the Caribbean team, starting, November 4 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Virat Kohli and Co will then travel to Australia where they’ll play three T20Is, as many ODI and four Tests and their campaign starts on November 21.
While the Men in Blue has done decently in the recent past against Australia in the limited-over formats, their record in red-ball cricket has been a tad abysmal. However, this time around, Australia won’t have the services of two of their stalwarts- David Warner and Steve Smith– and hence, the Indians would be having a golden opportunity of turning their opponents over.
Twitter lashes out at BCCI
The first Test will be played from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval while the ODI series starts on January 12. In the meantime, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent a two-member team to Australia a couple of weeks ago to inspect the venues. The advance party has also asked Cricket Australia to remove beef from the food items.
An official earlier mentioned that the vegetarian friends used to face a lot of issues and complained about the tasteless food in Australia. Rather, the party asked them to provide the Indian players with curry dishes. Last time when India toured England for a full-fledged tour, the world’s richest cricket board shared a menu, which consisted of beef pasta.
The same didn’t go down well with a number of supporters. Bearing the same in mind, the BCCI decided to take the precautionary measures. But this time around, the fans on Twitter have lashed out at the board after their request to the CA. Some went on to say that the cricketers should be given their own choices of food.
