India and Afghanistan managed to bring life to the ongoing Asia Cup as they played out a tie in a humdinger of a game. It was an exceptional match with the pendulum swinging after every ball and emotions galore in the stands. The last-over thriller was tied after Ravindra Jadeja miscued his pull off Rashid Khan and ended up being caught when his team only 1 run from two balls. However, the tied game didn’t go down well an Indian fan who was in tears after the proceedings ended.

The cameraman captured his emotions when both the teams were shaking the hands as many felt that it was a fitting end to the game. No team deserved to lose and one has to give the due credit to Afghanistan who were just superb throughout the Asia Cup. They ragged all the teams close in the Super Four stage after knocking out Sri Lanka earlier.

The dejected kid in tears

Afghanistan were defending the total of 253 runs against India while playing in Dubai for the first time. India’s openers KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu started swiftly and stitched 110 runs in no time after which the fans felt that it will be yet another cakewalk for their team. But the fast-improving Asian team had other ideas as the pitch slowed down even more compared to the first innings. Their spinners came into the game and the captain Asghar Afghan did well to utilise them.

It all went down to the last over eventually with the Men in Blue nine down needing seven runs. Jadeja smashed a boundary which should’ve been a maximum thanks to the misjudgement from the third umpire and kept the opponents in the game. The left-handed batsman though couldn’t keep his calm and hit the ball in the air to tie the game also leaving the Indian fans in a state of shock.

But the Indian kid in the stands was even sadder as he was in tears after the match ended. However, he was later cheered up by Rashid Khan and Mohammad Shahzad. Even Bhuvneshwar Kumar called and consoled him later which won the heart of the fans. Meanwhile, Twitter also was busy consoling the kid after the match and they tried to cheer him up with their messages.
