Rashid Khan is currently lighting up the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia while playing in his maiden stint for Adelaide Strikers. The leggie from Afghanistan has taken the T20 leagues around the world by storm with his performances. His bowling has impressed legendary cricketers including the former Australian Adam Gilchrist. However, the conversation between the two on Twitter after the last match of Strikers is ruling the internet currently.
Rashid, in the ongoing T20 extravaganza down under, has bowled exceedingly well for Strikers who signed him for this season following his exploits in the Carribean Premier League (CPL) and Indian Premier League (IPL) last year. The youngster has lived up to the expectations so far being the third highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps to his name in five outings. His economy of 5.10 is the best among all the bowlers and the franchise would hope that continues in the same vein.
Gilly and Rashid convo
Recently, Rashid Khan was over the moon after Adam Gilchrist had used his image as a profile picture on social media website Twitter after winning the Man of the Match award in his first match in BBL. However, the young player from Afghanistan tried to play a ramp shot and funnily fell over in his recent game against Sydney Thunders. Everyone burst out laughing after what happened in the middle and Gilchrist, once again, used his image playing that shot as his new profile picture.
Amazed by that, Rashid himself asked Brendon McCullum and Gilly if they know the name of the shot he played. He replied to Gilly’s tweet as, “What shot was that @gilly381 @Bazmccullum.” Meanwhile, he hit a couple of lusty blows during the same innings and remained unbeaten on 16 off six deliveries propelling his side to a decent total. Also, he bowled well yet again and ended with the figures of 2/21 for which he was awarded Man of the Match. The 19-year-old is certainly winning the hearts of everyone and is on his way to becoming one of the legends of the game.
