The superstar of South Africa AB de Villiers has slammed an excellent century in his comeback innings against Bangladesh. Both the teams are involved in the second ODI of the three-match series in Paarl at Boland Park. The spectators witnessed one of the best innings as he just blazed every bowler to every corner of the ground. The fans were overawed by his whirlwind knock as the social media poured in with tweets welcoming the master of the modern cricket back to where he beckons.

De Villiers came in at a very crucial juncture for South Africa when Shakib Al Hasan had just picked up a couple of quick wickets in the same over. The openers had struggled for timing on a pitch which was on the slower side as the spinners of Bangladesh had started to take control. But everything changed with a blink of an eye as De Villiers started to attack the bowlers. He was edgy to start with and also survived a run-out chance. Then he gained confidence by launching some good deliveries into the stands.

He continued to have fun in the middle as if he wanted to cover all the runs he missed in the last four months since Champions Trophy in June. Soon he reached his wonderful century, his 25th in ODIs, and the now the beast mode of the Proteas hero was on. He literally annihilated each and every bowler on his way and they looked clueless as most of them would in this situation. He was well set to become the first cricketer for South Africa to score a double century. But Rubel Hossain bowled a very good low full-toss as he was holed out to deep mid-wicket on 176 off just 104 deliveries. His special innings was studded with 15 fours and 7 gargantuan maximums.

South Africa post a massive total

After being invited to bowl first, South Africa started very well once again as the opening pair of Quinton De Kock and Hashim Amla continued from where they had left in the previous. But they struggled for timing as the visitors bowled much better than the last match.

Their most experienced bowler Shakib came to the fore and scalped De Kock and Faf Du Plessis in the same over to rock the hosts back. But De Villiers racked up all the lost runs in last four months and played a magnificent knock. Eventually and as expected Proteas finished with a massive total of 353/6 on the board after their stipulated 50 overs.

However, the former cricketers and the fans were left awestruck after watching the classy batting of the living legend and couldn’t stop themselves from showering praises on him.
