Twitter feels sad for Karun Nair as Hanuma Vihari set to make debut against England
Nair last donned the national colours in India's Test against Australia at Dharamshala in March 2017.

The fate of India’s Test series against England has already been sealed with the Three Lion’s resounding 60-run victory in the previous match at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton. The upcoming encounter is scheduled to be played at Kennington Oval in London and won’t have any consequence as far as the eventual result of the five-match series is concerned.
In the meantime, the Indians have decided to give Hanuma Vihari an opportunity in the match. He has churned out some impressive knocks at the domestic circuit and the selectors didn’t overlook his performance. Subsequently, he was drafted in the national squad for the final two matches. Albeit he was benched for the fourth Test, he has finally got his chance.
Karun Nair overlooked once again
Meanwhile, Karun Nair, who made his debut back in 2016 against England and scored a superlative triple century, didn’t get even a single game in the ongoing red-ball fixtures. Nair has played six matches in which he scored 374 runs at an average of 62.33. Nevertheless, following his heroics in Mohali, he couldn’t quite replicate his form in the next few matches.
Subsequently, he was benched and could only make a comeback in the squad during India’s historic Test against Afghanistan at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make the playing eleven. India next play the Windies in October and November, and it will be interesting to see whether he makes the cut in that series or not.
As far as the ongoing Test is concerned, India have drafted in all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in place of Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been suffering from a stiff hip ever since the third Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. For the time being, the supporters aren’t happy that Karun Nair has been benched yet another time.
Here is how Twitter reacted
What a good line on India preferring Vihari over Nair: It's like a kid getting excited by new candy in store everytime and forget what he already has in his bag"

Valid point made by Mr. Gavaskar. Why not play Karun Nair, a proven batsman with a triple century on his back, if you had to pick an extra batsman? Unfair call. #ENGvIND

Shame on Indian Selectors. Karun Nair deserved a chance.

All for Hanuma Vihari getting a go but why is Karun Nair not in the XI? Wasn't he the first choice middle-order back-up? #ENGvIND

Y Karun Nair is not playing ..who has scored 300 runs ..

If there’s one major reason why India lost this series it has to be due to poor team selection! Not sure if the team management is biased to wards a few players. Can’t believe KL Rahul has not been dropped and Vihari being selected ahead of Karun Nair! #SHOCKER #ENGvsIND

Absolutely utter nonsense from Indian cricket management for not picking up karun nair #Shame #EngvInd @BCCI
Sack #joker #Ravishastri— Ram Maravajhala (@rmprasad52) September 7, 2018
Gavaskar spits venom on Ravi Shastri and Kohli on their decision to turn a blind eye to Karun Nair….and rightly so…
The captain and coach cannot decide a team on personal likes and dislikes….if so, both of them should be sacked….#IndvsEng #ShoddySelection

FFS. No Prithvi Shaw. Happy for Vihari though. Also, Karun Nair was selected for the tour ahead of Shaw & Vihari, still no game time for him? :/
— Röhan (@Rohirrim_94) September 7, 2018
Poor Karun Nair. What wrong has he done to not get picked ahead of Hanuman Vihari as rightly pointed out by Mr. Gavaskar. #ENGvsIND #ENGvIND @BCCI @karun126 feeling for you bro. Your turn will come. #shame

All the best to Hanuma but shouldn't it have been Karun Nair in place of him in the team?
— Ujwal Kr Singh (@UjwalKS) September 7, 2018
Sir #sunilgavaskar is absolutely miffed up with team management for not giving a chance to a absolutely talented #KarunNair "I think they dont like him so they didnt pick him"
