South Africa handed a debut to Heinrich Klaasen, the wicket-keeper, in the third ODI against India after Quinton de Kock was ruled out of the series. While it was a tough outing for the debutant chasing a mammoth total of 303, he was the hero of the nation in the very next game. His innings of 43 helped South Africa ace the revised chase of 202 in a rain-hit game. However, Twitter is drooling over his similarities with New Zealand opener Martin Guptill now.
Proteas had made a decent effort to restrict the visitors to 289 in 50 overs after which the heavens opened up during the chase. The lengthy break meant Duckworth Lewis Stern method came into play and they were set a target of 202 runs in 28 overs. After losing AB de Villiers in the 17th over, the game was all but over for the hosts as the wrist-spinners still had a lot of overs up their sleeves. But Klaasen found his mojo at the right time which caught India offguard on the night.
Guptill of South Africa
Heinrich Klaasen batted gamely and attacked the Indian spinners, especially Yuzvendra Chahal, which was surprising for everyone around. He played reverse sweeps and shuffled in his crease a lot which disturbed the lines of the bowler. Eventually, his exploits with the bat helped his team in winning the match as they also stayed alive in the series. However, he became the overnight sensation of the country and more such knocks would seal his position in the team ahead of the World Cup next year.
Amidst all the cricketing action, the social sphere was more excited about his looks as he exactly resembled like Martin Guptill of New Zealand. There were also a few of them who pointed out his similarities with the former England cricketer Paul Collingwood. One of the Twitter user, however, hilariously claimed that Cricket South Africa cheated with India by playing Martin Guptill in South Africa colours.

Don't forget Klaasen's important innings, the way he handled the spinners was incredible, all under the pressure of the run rate.
