Except for MS Dhoni’s back to back match saving innings at Pallekele, he treated the viewers with yet another special of his when the play was stopped due to interruptions from the crowd. MSD, being the ‘chill guy’ he is, utilized the time to catch a quick power nap beside the pitch, which amused one and all.
After witnessing a sorry performance from the home team, their fans started throwing bottles and tantrums. Such instances are nothing new in the sub-continent, especially in India. The most famous incidence from our country is the finals of World Cup 1996 at Kolkata, where India was on the verge of losing against Sri Lanka. A similar incident happened in the infamous Keenan stadium at Jamshedpur which last hosted a match in 2006. The match in 2002-03 against West Indies saw the crowd bursting crackers and throwing water bottles.
Amidst all the unrest in the ground today with Team India on the verge of winning the match and the series 3-0, players were asked to wait while the ground staff tried to clean the vicinity of the boundary and police tried to control the crowd, MS Dhoni decided to take a quickie right beside the pitch.
Seeing this, Sunny Gavaskar in the studios claimed that Dhoni should be a citizen of Iceland. Ajay Jadeja and Murali Karthik used terms such as a refrigerator and an air conditioner to describe the coolness of Captain Cool. The international career of MSD has seen many occasions where the Indian captain kept his cool under pressure cooker situation and deliver the goods for the Indian team.
But this act of his is nothing like ever seen before and depicts the tranquillity in his mind even after being in the centre of the stadium with almost 20,000 people. As a result, the Twitterati went ballistic looking at the modern-day Master taking a quick power nap as players and umpires looking at him.

Poor scenes at Pallekela. Spectators throwing bottles onto the ground and play has been stopped due to that. India need 8 runs #SLvIND

India should feel lucky that they are not playing in Pakistan. Had it been the case crowd would be throwing grenades instead of bottles.
