Indian batsman Virat Kohli is currently in a purple patch with the willow and opponents have found it tough to restrict the 29-year-old. He is currently playing the ODI series against Windies and has absolutely put the rivals’ bowlers to the swords. In the first match in Guwahati, he scored 140 runs from merely 107 balls and helped his team track down 324 runs.
The Delhi-born cricketer came into his own even in the second encounter in Visakhapatnam and notched yet another century. To add to his delight, he also became the fastest batsman to 10,000 runs in the 50-overs format, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. The right-hander scored 157 runs in 129 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and four hits into the stands.
Kohli scores his 38th ODI ton
In the first two matches, Kohli scored an incredible 297 runs and looked unstoppable. He carried over his form in the third match at MCA Stadium in Pune as well. He came to bat after Rohit Sharma was nipped out by Jason Holder. He took his time early on and built a healthy 79 partnership with Shikhar Dhawan. Meanwhile, he brought up his half-century in 62 balls.
India lost quite a few wickets in quick succession and found themselves in a rabbit hole. However, Virat didn’t lose his focus and blended caution with aggression. In the 36th over, he lost MS Dhoni as his partner. At that point in time, the Men in Blue needed 90 runs. In the second ball of the 37th over by Kemar Roach, he went downtown and reached 97 with a boundary.
The 38th over saw him accomplish his third century in succession and he accomplished the same off 110 balls. The batter glanced the ball down to the fine leg region to rack up his 38th ton in the ODI format. Following his masterful knock, the supporters couldn’t hold on their emotions and they hailed the experienced batsman for entertaining them yet another time.

If RBI decides to come up with a new 100 Rupee note, they should consider putting Virat Kohli's face on it.

Another day. Another chase. Another Kohli hundred. Cannot think of any other batsman who thumped hundreds with such ridiculous consistency and ease. And it's not just one or 2 years. He has been doing it since 2012. Every time you think he has peaked, he discovers another zenith

Three 100s in an ODI series for India:
S Ganguly in WC 2003 in SA/Zim
VVS Laxman in VB Series 2003/04 in Aus
V Kohli vs SA in SA, 2018
V Kohli vs WI in Ind, 2018#INDvWI— Deepu Narayanan (@deeputalks) October 27, 2018
How is this for a stat –
in the history of ODI cricket there has been 3 times that a captain has scored more than 400 runs in an ODI series. Two of those have been Kohli in 2018.
Oh, and this series still has two matches to go…
