Twitter is livid with Virat Kohli for not including Kedar Jadhav in Adelaide ODI
Kedar has been brilliant with the ball whenever given the opportunity.
Team India lost the first of the three-match ODI series in Sydney. Their top three got out early in the chase and could never really recover from that blow despite Rohit Sharma‘s scintillating century. Having said that, they missed a part-time bowler like Kedar Jadhav when the wickets weren’t falling in the first innings. Ambati Rayudu bowled a couple of overs but even he has reported for suspect action now.
Many had anticipated that Kedar would play in the must-win game in Adelaide. Not just for his slingy bowling action, the Maharashtra cricketer also provides stability to the batting line-up with his uncanny abilities with the willow. But Virat Kohli kept him on the bench for this game also even as Australia won the toss and opted to bat at the Adelaide Oval.
Siraj gets a debut
The visitors handed over a debut to Mohammed Siraj who replaced Khaleel Ahmed in the line-up. Dinesh Karthik, after failing in Sydney, was expected to make way for Kedar Jadhav but the team management decided to give him one more chance. Karthik is fighting for a place with Rishabh Pant and only one of them will be making it to the World Cup squad it seems.
He played a painful knock of 12 runs off 21 deliveries in a 288-run chase in the previous game and clearly is under pressure to score runs. If he fails to make an impact again in Adelaide, Jadhav might come into the contention as he can offer a few valuable overs as well. Moreover, he can up the ante in the death overs as well and is a clever customer in executing his shots.
While Karthik deserves the opportunities coming his way, Twitter was livid after knowing that Jadhav was benched again and felt that Team India will miss him in what looks to like a flat pitch in Adelaide.
