Twitter lashes out at Anushka Sharma for posing with the Indian team
The second Test will be played at Lord's from August 9.
Team India visited the Indian High Commission in London on Tuesday ahead of the second Test match against England. A dinner party was organised for them after which a group photo was clicked. But what has irked many in the picture is the presence of the Bollywood actress and the wife of Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma. Soon after the photo went viral. Twitterverse lashed out at the Diva as she was the only WAG of a cricketer allowed when the wives of others are also present in the country.
None of the other cricketers’ wives was posing with them while Anushka was standing in the middle right next to her husband which looked a bit odd. Even the BCCI has cleared that the WAGs are not allowed during the Test series. Though they had prepared a window for them to meet later. But Kohli and Anushka could be seen together every now and then which has left many perplexed.
Twitter questions Anushka’s presence
Twitterverse wasn’t pleased a bit to see Anushka Sharma standing at the centre as well while Ajinkya Rahane, the vice-captain of the team, was made to stand in the last row of the picture. If Anushka is allowed, then why not the family members of other cricketers? The picture included the coaching and support staff of the visitors as well but no one had their wives posing with them.
The official Twitter handle of BCCI posted the picture of the team visiting the Indian High Commission in London and fans reacted almost immediately.
Meanwhile, the second Test is set to begin on August 9 as Virat Kohli and his troops would be keen to level the five-match series. They lost the opening encounter by just 31 runs thanks to the inability of the other batsmen to stay in the middle. It will be important now that they lend support to their captain who is in sensational form and make a comeback as soon as possible.
