Twitter lashes out at Gautam Gambhir after his savage response on Kashmir tweet
Gambhir and Afridi have never been on good terms.
India and Pakistan have always been divided on Jammu and Kashmir issue as both the nation claim the state to be theirs thereby leading to the violence. Now the cricketers of the stature of Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi have also clashed on the same issue after the latter blamed India for the widespread violence in the State. However, Gambhir is facing the heat now after his brutal response to Afridi over his controversial tweet.
Recently, Jammu and Kashmir has experienced several cases of civil clashes including the stone pelting on the Indian Army. A lot of common people have been injured due to these clashes. Afridi, in his tweet, had urged United Nations to intervene and save the innocents being shot in India occupied Kashmir which only added fuel to the fire. While he was bashed by the Indian fans, even Gambhir wasn’t behind who is known to be a true patriot.
Gambhir’s savage response
Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir have not been on good terms even on the field and the duo is in no mood to settle the matter off the field as well. The left-handed batsman was clearly miffed over Afridi’s tweet and bashed him for the same. He also took a dig at the vocabulary of the most loved Pakistani cricketer and called it ‘retarded; as well only to invite the outrage of the Pakistani fans.
“Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!” read Gambhir’s response.
It is natural that the fans would get miffed as Kashmir is a highly insensitive issue and the celebrities of this stature have to take care while commenting on these matters.
