Twitter lashes out at selectors after Mohammed Siraj was left out for second Windies Test
This also means that the pacer won't have the privilege of making his Test debut in front of his home crowd.
Speedster Mohammed Siraj has been one of the most prolific bowlers going around in the Indian domestic circuit. Recently, he played for Hyderabad in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and did reasonably well for them. Moreover, he featured in quite a few matches for India ‘A’ in this year and he didn’t let his team down by any stretch of the imagination.
The 24-year-old has churned out wickets at regular intervals, which has helped his teams get the oppositions on the mat. He did well in England and came back to weave his magic for India ‘A’ in the home series against Australia ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’. However, despite his stupendous performances, he somehow hasn’t been able to break into the national team.
Siraj overlooked once again
Earlier this month, the fast bowler got his maiden call-up in the Indian squad for the two-match Test series against Windies. However, he didn’t get an opportunity in the opening Test after he wasn’t included in the 12-man squad, which was announced a day earlier to the commencement of the match. Quite expectantly, his supporters were highly dissatisfied.
In the opening encounter, Virat Kohli’s men were comprehensive in all the departments and didn’t give the opponents a sniff an opportunity to make a comeback in the encounter. The home team racked up its biggest victory in Test cricket (by an innings). The second Test is scheduled to be played from tomorrow at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Unfortunately, Siraj hasn’t been included in the 12-man squad, announced today. This also means that the pacer won’t have the privilege of making his Test debut in front of his home crowd. Twitter is definitely not satisfied by his omission and they lashed out at the selectors for overlooking Siraj yet another time.
