Twitter pokes fun at Wriddhiman Saha after his congratulatory message for Rishabh Pant
Saha has been tussling with injuries over the last few months.
Yesterday, Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, lit up the Kennington Oval in London with a swashbuckling knock of 114 runs from 146 deliveries. He came to bat after half the Indian batting lineup was back in the hut. He had KL Rahul at the other end and he was faced with a daunting task of defying the inevitable and save the day for the visiting team.
India needed someone on to put his head down and somehow keep them in contenting for eking out a draw. Prior to the fourth innings, the Uttarakhand-born cricket scored only 48 runs in five innings of his Test career at an abysmal average of 9.60. However, in India’s second innings, he looked in no sort of pressure whatsoever and rather, brimmed with confidence.
Pant plays a matured knock
Such was his domination that he entered the 90s with a colossal blow off Adil Rashid. Moreover, the 20-year-old notched his maiden Test ton with another muscular whack into the stands. En route his superlative knock, he also cobbled together a stand of 204 runs with KL Rahul, who went on to rack up 149 runs in 224 balls with the help of 20 boundaries and a six.
Following Pant’s exceptional display of strokeplay, Wriddhiman Saha, another of India’s wicketkeeper, seemed happy by the youngster’s performance. Subsequently, he congratulated Pant for the masterful knock. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Congratulations @RishabPant777 for your maiden test 100! Good knock brother!”
Here is Saha’s tweet
In the meantime, Twitter severely trolled Saha for his praises towards Pant for the reason that the Bengal cricketer is currently out of the national team. Saha has been tussling with injuries over the last few months and after missing the matches against Afghanistan and England, he is most likely to miss the bus to Australia later this month.
