Australia completed an impressive win against Pakistan at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground as they went ahead and claimed an impressive 220-run win over the Pakistanis. While this is a win in itself, another aspect of the win that will certainly boost Steve Smith and his men will be the fact that their spin attack seems quite settled.

Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon picked five wickets between them as they went on to pick five wickets between them despite the fact that Hilton Cartwright did not get to a bowl. Steve Smith bowled the solitary over as the third spinner but did not need to pool in more resources as the Pakistan batsmen fell like a pack of cards.

However, the Aussies were made to work for their win as Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and his trusted lieutenant Asad Shafiq began to stitch a partnership that would threaten to take the game away from the hosts. However, it was the irresistible Mitchell Starc who breached the defenses of Shafiq to ensure that the tail was well and truly exposed.

Sarfraz Ahmed also went on to smash an impressive 72 and also remained unbeaten in his crusade towards getting Pakistan over the line. He also managed to play his natural game which involves aggression and smacks and hoicks to the fence from time to time. However, he received little or no support from the tail as the Pakistanis were dismissed for 244.

Moreover, there was also a buzz around the Sydney Cricket Ground as Mickey Edwards, a Sydney-based individual made his way out to substitute for David Warner and became an instant hit. Whether it was the fact that he was an unknown figure or whether it was his golden locks of hair, or perhaps even the baggy green cap despite not having made his debut, it got the SCG crowd up.
