The Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad came to a close with India prevailing over Iran in the final of the premier Kabaddi tournament. While this remains to be India’s third World Cup triumph on the spin, this is the first time there has been so much publicity across all platforms in recent times.

Following India’s thumping win over Iran,  the Indian Twitterati exploded with tweets with many choosing to congratulate the Indians on their massive victory over the Iranians. What was more impressive was the fact that the Indian cricketers got into the act to congratulate the Indian Kabaddi team on the enormity of their success.

The tweets began from Harbhajan Singh who tweeted his pride and joy following the win despite the fact that he was once again overlooked for the Test series against England in November later this year.

Virender Sehwag went back to his old antics of congratulations as he tickled the funny bone of one and all apart from pulling a few legs as he did. However, one man who did not enjoy this was Piers Morgan, the British presenter who has had a few run-ins with the former Indian opener in the past also indulged in a bit of a banter with Sehwag.

Parthiv Patel, India’s former child prodigy, and wicketkeeper-batsman also joined on in the act while Sachin Tendulkar made his divine intervention with a tweet, especially after all the tweets he out forth for in the recently concluded Rio Olympics.

That said, here are the best tweets following the end of the Kabaddi final.
