Shakib-Al-Hasan went on to impress with some terrific batting on the day as he went ahead and smashed an impressive double century. He went ahead and slammed 217 on the day as the Kiwis simply had no answer to the way he performed as he stitched an impressive partnership with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim.

For his effort, Rahim was excellent on the day as he went ahead and impressed quite a bit with some terrific batting acumen as he managed 159. However, what was perhaps most impressive was the fact that they managed 359 runs for the fourth wicket, the highest partnership in their history.

It eventually took a herculean effort from the bowlers to ensure that there was something at the close of play for the New Zealand bowlers. Both Shakib and Mushfiqur were eventually dismissed, but there was more to the character of the way they batted.

Most batsmen usually find it difficult to pull off shots with the new and seaming ball in New Zealand. However, despite this, these two batsmen quashed that myth rather significantly, to say the least by ensuring that they were able to face the New Zealand attack at Christchurch.

Neil Wagner eventually breached the defenses of the southpaw Shakib as the Kiwis were back on track. With a handful of overs left to play, the Kiwis did not see their opponents declare as the Bangladeshis will be looking to continue where they left off on the third day’s play.
