World Champions Australia’s worrying run in the sub-continent continues as Sri Lanka completed the whitewash against Australia in the three-match Test series.
Australia was asked to chase 324 on a 5th-day wicket at the Colombo and it was never going to be easy on a track which had a lot of assistance for the spinners. Veteran left-arm spinner Rangana Herath continued his wicket hunt in the second innings as he finished with 7 wickets in the innings after Australia had a decent partnership for the opening wicket.
The openers David Warner and Shaun Marsh added 77 runs for the first wicket. Warner, who found his first 50 plus score in the series was aggressive in the innings punishing any error in line and length.Century scorer of the first innings, Marsh fell for 23 in the last over before lunch.

Australia slipped from 100 for 1 to all out for 160 runs. David Warner remained as the top scorer in the innings with a 94-ball 68.

Herath finished with bowling figures of 18.1-3-64-7 and he got good assistance from Dilruwan Perera, who claimed 2 wickets. Overall, Herath has a total of 13 wickets in the match. He also finished as the leading wicket-taker of the series with 28 wickets, followed by Mitchell Starc of Australia with 24 wickets. Herath was undoubtedly adjudged as the player of the match as well as the player of the series.
