The West Indies shocked a massive part of the cricketing world following their 100-run win over the mighty South Africans at Barbados. Twitter erupted following their win with most tweets directed at the South Africans following their loss. However, as things stand, it will be the hosts West Indies who will face the top-ranked Australians in the final of the Tri-Series 2016.

With rain and thundershowers hovering in the vicinity of the Kensington Oval, the West Indies made their way out to bat. The South African bowlers initially ran riot as the home side first found themselves at 12/3 and then 21/4.

Enter Dwayne Bravo. The younger of the Bravo siblings began smashing the ball to all parts of the ground as he went on to reach his well-deserved century. With support from Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder, and Carlos Brathwaite, the West Indies reached a total of 285 in their 50 overs.

The South Africans, on the other hand, had absolutely no answer to the raw pace and swing of the incoming Shannon Gabriel. The latter picked up three South African wickets as his partner in crime, Sunil Narine as the mystery spinner concluded his bad patch with a 3-wicket haul. The Proteas were eventually blasted out for a paltry 185, a score that sees them plummet from the top of the table to the very bottom.

While some tweets showcased shock and admiration for the West Indies, many lashed out at the Proteas, reinvigorating the infamous ‘Chokers’ tag that they earned all those years ago in 1999. Here are some of the best tweets following the end of that ill-fated encounter in Barbados.
