After three consecutive losses, the Australian team finally managed to win a match in the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh. The visiting team managed to get some momentum in another low-scoring match at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Despite the three-wicket win came with an over to spare, head coach Justin Langer will know that it wasn’t a dominating win.
Bangladesh team batted first and never really managed to get going. The wicket played as slow as it has been through the series, but it was Australia’s disciplined bowling that kept Bangladesh’s total even below subpar. With the bat, only Mohammad Naim (28 off 36) and Afif Hossain (20 off 17) got some runs. There was a handy contribution of 23 runs from 16 balls from Mahedi Hasan as well.
Despite his best efforts, Bangladesh ended up with 104 for 9 in their 20 overs. Andrew Tye and Josh Hazlewood found themselves among wickets, picking three and two scalps respectively. But, Mitchell Swepson, who came in the side in place of the experienced Adam Zampa, bowled a good spell. He ended with three wickets in his four overs and conceded only 12 runs. Ashton Agar got a wicket as well.
Dan Christian, batting at no. 3 smashes Shakib Al Hasan for five sixes in an over
Chasing the small total, Australia once again lost Matthew Wade in the first over. But Dan Christian, who was sent up the order at no. 3, was in no mood to slow things down. He smashed Shakib Al Hasan for five sixes in an over during his cameo of 39 runs from 15 balls. But Australia experienced a collapse thereafter as they slipped from 47 for 1 to 65 for 6.
Agar came to the rescue batting superbly during his knock of 27 runs from 27 balls while Ashton Turner held one end. Turner ended with 9 runs from 20 balls but managed to help the Aussies cross the line once Agar was dismissed. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman was brilliant with the ball once again.
He ended with figures of 2 for 9 from his four overs. Hasan and Nasum Ahmed gave 17 runs each from their four-over spells, picking up two and one wicket respectively. With this loss, Bangladesh leads the series 3-1 with the final dead rubber to be played on Monday, August 9.

Bangladesh should enjoy this series victory but honestly speaking this series has been below average in terms of International standards.. The home team also struggling to make even 100 is certainly a bad advertisement of T20 Cricket.. #BANvAUS #AUSvBAN
