The Day 4 of the West Indies v India Test marked the end of the match as the visitors gained an emphatic win by an innings and 92 runs. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was declared the man of the match for his century with the bat followed by a 7-wicket haul in the second innings.

The day began with Darren Bravo getting out to a stunning catch by Ajinkya Rahane at gully. This was followed by a rain delay due to which Lunch was taken earlier. While Marlon Samuels and Rajendra Chandrika were doing well, Ashwin turned the tables in India’s favour as he took 7 wickets to end this memorable match.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra also supported him well with another couple of wickets. Earlier after the Ashwin blitz, West Indies were left reeling at 132/8. However, as a result of some inspired batting by Carlos Brathwaite and Devendra Bishoo, they managed to drag the game till the third session.

While Brathwaite scored his third half century in Tests, Bishoo registered his best Test score. Ashwin got the better of Bishoo in the end as India wrapped up the Test match inside four days. This is India’s first Test win outside the subcontinent since their victory at Lord’s in 2014.

Twitter kept everyone entertained with some splendid tweets throughout the course of the test match. While some lauded Ashwin for his brilliant all round performance some trolled Kumble and his camera obsession.
