The tri-nation series is coming to an end as Australia make it into the finals with a win over the hosts West Indies in their final league game at Barbados.
Marlon Samuels once again came up with the goods with a wonderfully compiled 125, an innings that erased the initial top-order collapse from the West Indies. Samuels was given company by West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Denesh Ramdin as the latter finally got the monkey off his back to complete 2000 ODI runs. He smashed a heroic 91as he and Samuels added 192 runs for the fifth wicket. In spite of giving away runs and extras in tandem, Mitchell Starc was clearly the pick of the bowlers as he concluded with figures of 3/51 in his quota of 10 overs.
Their efforts, however, proved to be not enough as Australian skipper Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh came up with the goods when it mattered to secure a 6-wicket win. Marsh, for his efforts, remained unbeaten on 79 while Glenn Maxwell seemingly re-found his form with a magnificent and whirlwind innings of 46 off just 26 deliveries. His compilation included 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. The win also ensured that the Aussies reached their target with almost 8 deliveries to spare.
Now West Indies will face South Africa in the deciding league game as whoever wins in it, will play Australia in finals. Twitter was entertaining during the Samuels and Ramdin partnership stand and followed by another useful stand between Smith and Marsh in Australia’s innings.
Here we look at some of the Twitter reactions during the game:

In his 50th ODI, Starc strikes in his first over to move just four short of 100 career wickets. History beckons … #WIvAUS

Khawaja's opening? Impressive work from Smith to hide him while fielding. I don't think I saw him once in that last ten overs. #WIvAUS

For the first time in ODI history, two WKs got dismissed on nervous 90s on the same day – Jos Buttler (93) & D Ramdin (91).#ENGvSL #WIvAUS

Australia never won against West Indies while chasing over 260+ in ODI Cricket. They lost on all the 7 occasions before today. #WIvAUS
