After being thoroughly outplayed in the first two T20Is of the three-match series against Pakistan, team Windies had nothing but pride to play for when they stepped on the field for the final match. The action stayed in Karachi as the two sides locked horns for the third time in as many number of days. Pakistan had completed two comprehensive wins in the series and hence, had sealed the fate of the series already.
They had a very good opportunity of trying out their bench strength in the final game. On the contrary, the Windies side had a lot to ponder about before the game. They needed serious rectification to figure out what exactly was wrong with their plans. Amidst this backdrop, the final match of the short tour commenced.
Windies won the toss and opted to bat first. They hoped that the fortunes would change for them if they decide to bat first. They stuck to the same lineup while the hosts gave an opportunity to Shaheen Afridi, Usman Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz to play in tandem on the night. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Amir sat out of the action.
Windies opener Chadwick Walton perished for a duck on the night. Andre Fletcher (52 offf 43 deliveries) and Marlon Samuels (31 off 25 deliveries) kept the visitors interested in the game with their 72-run stand. However, the real impetus to the innings was given by Denesh Ramdin. Ramdin stood tall at one end as the wickets kept falling from the other in the middle overs.
Ramdin’s unbeaten 42 off 18 balls was studded with four boundaries and three maximums. This included two sixes off the final two balls of the innings bowled by Usman Khan. His efforts helped Windies finish with 153/6 in their stipulated 20 overs.
In the run chase, the Pakistani openers – Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam – were too hot to handle for the visitors. Zaman hit a brisk 40 off 17 to push the Windies on the backfoot. Meanwhile, Azam was the slow poison that killed the opposition with his anchoring 40-ball 51. In the end, Hussain Talat (31*) and Asif Ali (25*) finished off the proceedings for the hosts to seal another emphatic 8 wicket win for Pakistan. With the win, they completed a whitewash over the visitors.

Another 3-0 T20i series win for Pakistan, third clean-sweep for Pakistan in a three-match T20i series, most by any team. No other team has done clean sweep in a three-match T20 series more than twice.
