Twitter Reactions: Babar Azam hits the 3rd consecutive ODI ton
Pakistan’s new No. 3 in ODIs Babar Azam is 18 innings young in One-Day International cricket and coming into the three-match series didn’t have an international century to his name but having batted thrice against the West Indians he has 3 ODI tons to his name already. He reached the triple figures mark in the first ODI that ensured Pakistan a victory in the opening match.
That 120-run knock gave him immense confidence and he carried from where he left in the second match. Babar walked in to bat when the team score was naught but scored a magnificent century to help them get to 284 which in the end, proved to be a winning total. In the third and the conclusive ODI of the series at Sharjah today he had a platform laid by the openers and used that as a perfect launch pad to flourish.
Babar took his time early on and didn’t take much of a risk apart from the one six that he hit. He was scoring at less than run a ball in the first 40 balls that he faced in this inning. But once he was well set, the team was on course of a big score he started playing his shots and at the same time kept running hard and accumulated a lot of runs in singles and doubles.
He only hit eight boundaries and one six in the knock worth 117 runs. But despite that had a strike rate well over 100. What it did is took Pakistan to 308/6 in 50 overs and they are well set to register a clean sweep in the ODI series.

With the show he put up, the right-hander became the first Pakistan player to score the first 3 ODI centuries of his career in successive innings and the 8th batsman to score three 100s in a row in ODIs. Babar Azam also became the first Pakistani player to score centuries in all the three games of 3-match bilateral ODI series.
