New Zealand is currently touring Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series where the first match of the series took place on September 01, 2021, at Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. The home side bagged the series opener with utmost comfort by seven wickets. Having won the toss, the second-string side of New Zealand decided to show up with the willows first and the decision turned their world upside down.
Tom Latham and his men got wrapped on a mere total of 60 runs which left absolutely no task for the hosts. The bowling unit of Bangladesh displayed golden form where each and every member delivered his best. The absolute domination from hosts wrapped up Kiwis cheaply where Latham and Henry Nicholls added 18 runs each. The top and middle-order remained disturbed as Mustafizur Rahman picked three wickets while Mohammad Saifuddin got two to his credit.
Both Nasum Ahmed and ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan bowled tight spells and walked up with an economy of 2.5. When the host side walked up to chase the target, even they lost some early wickets but the pressure was equal to none owing to an extremely small target. The openers left the pitch after adding one run each but the task got shouldered by others batsmen in the middle.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Bangladesh’s victory

Job of Bangladesh Cricket:

I don't Understand what kind of pitches Bangladesh Make. New Zealand all out for 60.
That's a general Trend there, you hardly see any high Scoring games.#BanvNZ #NZvBan #BANvsNZ #NzvsBan— Cricket fan Girl (@AfshaCricket) September 1, 2021
Which format are the @BLACKCAPS playing because I went to pick a call and Bangladesh are chasing 61??π₯Ί #BANvsNZ

There's no point taking confidence from playing on such pitches irrespective of whom you defeat.
NZ has the advantage of watching the AUS series & looks clearly well-equipped despite this loss.
Not to forget, it's a brand new team they are playing.#BANvsNZ

Bangladesh displaying their golden form of late
Shakib contributed vitals 25 runs with his bat while Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah fetched victory for their side with their cameo of 16 and 14 runs respectively.Β Talking of the bowling unit of visitors, Ajaz Patel remained best with a wicket under his belt and conceded just seven runs in his quota of 4 overs.
In recent times, Bangladesh have been doing wonders as they defeated Australia recently on their home soil. Australia was up against Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series where they lost the series 1-4 clinically against the hosts. Though many big names of Australia were not present on the tour due to personal and injury reasons, the performance by the home team cannot be denied any appreciation as they maintained sheer domination.
