Bangladesh won the second ODI match against West Indies played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on Wednesday (July 13). After winning the first two ODIs, Bangladesh has now clinched the series with one more game left to play in the tour. For visitors, spinner Nasum Ahmed was adjudged player of the match for his excellent bowling performance.
Talking about the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. The Men in Maroon had a decent start with openers Kyle Mayers (17 runs) and Shai Hope (18 runs) batting well for their team. However, the left-handed batter was scalped by Mosaddek Hossain right after the first ten overs of the innings.
Bangladesh spin department impressed yet again
West Indies batters did not have answers to Bangladesh spin bowling department as they fell like a pack of cards. Mosaddek Hossain (one wicket), Mehidy Hasan (four wickets) and Nasum Ahmed (three wickets) completely demolished the home team’s batting line-up. Several West Indies batters got a start in their innings but none of them managed to convert it to a big score.
Apart from the openers, Brandon King (11 runs), Rovman Powell (13 runs), and Shamarh Brooks (five runs) were at the crease for a decent amount of time but none of them managed to get going against a disciplined bowling performance by the visiting team. As a result, the Men in Maroon could only 108/10 in 35 overs.
In reply, skipper Tamim Iqbal (50 off 62 balls), and Najmul Hossain Shanto (20 off 36 balls) gave a perfect start to their team as they stitched a partnership of 48 runs for the first wicket. After Shanto got out, Tamim was joined by Litton Das and they both ensured that West Indies does not taste any success in the remainder of the match as Bangladesh won by nine wickets.
Batter Litton Das remained unbeaten for his 32 runs off 27 balls, hitting six fours. Spinner Gudakesh Motie was the only successful bowler for the home team as they went on to lose the match and the series after the completion of the second encounter.

West Indies' horrible run in ODIs continues. They are very poor in the format, while it is easily Bangladesh's strongest. Two easy wins for the Tigers.#WIvBAN #Cricket
