Ben Dunk managed an impressive 79 as the Adelaide Strikers went on to complete an impressive win over the Sydney Sixers at the Adelaide Oval. The 29-year old left-handed Dunk began the carnage from the word go as he gave the ball a massive thump to different parts of the Adelaide Oval.
Dunk’s impressive batting was also backed up by some terrific bowling from Chris Jordan who claimed figures of 3/24, thereby reducing the Sixers to a score of 161 in their quota of 20 overs. However, Jonathan Wells and Beau Webster had other ideas as they went ahead and smashed the ball to different parts and stitched an impressive partnership to ensure that the Sixers did indeed have a chance at saving face.
It was the fall of the wicket of George Bailey that ensured that the Hurricanes were in a world of trouble. At 5-30, Webster and Wells joined each other in the middle and went on to ensure that they went ahead and began to showcase their abilities with the bat.
While both batsmen ensured that their batting character was there for all to see, it was quite clear that the job was not done just yet.
Right from the word go, it was Ben Dunk who set Adelaide ablaze, much to the enjoyment of the home crowd that was present to watch their homegrown lad make merry of some of the bowlers. Kieron Pollard also chipped in with a start of 31, but it was Dunk who stole the show all the way.
The Hurricanes bowlers simply had no answers to the way he played while the run rate dipped below the nominal six-an-over for perhaps one of the few times in the match. It was Chris Jordan who added the cherry on top of the cake as he smashed the ball for a massive six over the mid-wicket fence to complete the game.

Got it, Pollard's LBW was actually the umpire finally deciding to put the finger up on the Hodge appeal #bbl06
