A collective team effort has seen the Bengal Tigers emerge triumphant over Punjabi Legends in a quite convincing way. The Legends haven’t been up to the mark with their batting in the tournament and have their resources quite limited. Hence, they succumbed in the 10th match of the T10 League and lost the game by six wickets. The Tigers are at the top of the points table at the moment in Group B.

Mujeeb and Narine dismantle the opposition

The Punjabi Legends do not bat very deep. So if the pressure is built on the top order and they crumble, it all comes down to the middle-order to score runs. The Bengal Tigers executed this ploy perfectly. After the Legends opted to bat first, Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked early wickets in the innings. Sunil Narine and the other bowlers also kept on chipping in with wickets.

Luke Ronchi, who was looking good was run out after he scored 23 off 14 deliveries. The clinical bowling helped restrict them for 77/9 in 10 overs which is always tough to defend on any given day. Even though they lost a few wickets, Bengal Tigers comfortably gunned down the target.

Jason Roy at the top set the tone for the team. He put his hitting prowess on display and took the bowlers to the cleaners. With six boundaries and three sixes in his innings, he alone scored 43 runs which came off 14 balls. Luke Wright also played a handy cameo of 23. Mohammad Nabi finished it off with a six of the last ball of the sixth over to register a six-wicket win.

Twitterati liked watching Narine and Mujeeb deliver the goods in the same game. They wished for these both to carry on in the same fashion going forward. The tweeple enjoyed watching Jason Roy bat.
