The writing is pretty much on the walls for Faf du Plessis men.

By the close of play of day three in the Ranchi Test, it’s only a matter of time before India inflict South Africa with a 3-0 thrashing. Virat Kohli and Co picked up 16 wickets on the day to drill the final nail in the coffin of their opponent. The fast bowlers spewed venom with good support from the tweakers. For the time being, the Proteas trail by 203 runs with two wickets left in the second innings.
India skittle Proteas out cheaply
Having lost two wickets at the fag end of the second day, the visitors made a horrendous start as Umesh Yadav ripped Faf du Plessis’ poles apart. Thereafter, Zubayr Hamza (62) and Temba Bavuma (32) put on 91 for the fourth wicket. The former notched his maiden fifty off 56 balls to keep the India bowlers at bay. To South Africa’s agony, both of them perished in a space of five deliveries.
Even as Ravindra Jadeja castled Hamza, Shahbaz Nadeem picked up his first Test wicket in the form of Bavuma. From there on, the Proteas were bowled out for 162. Only debutant George Linde (37) showed some fight. For India, Umesh was the most successful with three wickets. Shami, Nadeem and Jadeja picked up a couple of wickets each. The hosts managed a lead of a mammoth 335 runs.
India two wickets shy of a dominating win
It didn’t spring a surprise that the home team enforced the follow on. Umesh drew first blood, getting rid of Quinton de Kock. Then Mohammed Shami made inroads, dismissing Hamza, Du Plessis and Bavuma in no time. Den Elgar hit three fours, but copped a blow on the helmet before the tea break after which he was ruled out of the series. Theunis de Bruyn became his concussion substitute.
In the last session, Yadav pinned Heinrich Klaasen and sent half the Proteas batting back to the hut. Linde (27) and Dane Piedt (23) tried to put their heads down, but couldn’t survive the heat. Ravi Ashwin picked up his first wicket of the game as he dismissed Kagiso Rabada. De Bruyn (30) stayed unbeaten and along with his Anrich Nortje. The writing is pretty much on the walls for the visitors.
Here is how Twitter reacted
I genuinely feel gutted for the Proteas players atm, however, in time, a fish rots from the head down. CSA should take full responsibility for where we are as a cricketing nation now, as seen at the CWC and in India currently.

Bowling Machine can be used to iron out specific technical glitches in Batsmen, but too much time against a machine can make Batsmen play through the line ,far too often #INDvSA #BadriBytes

Some amount of lateral movement and deviation for seamers and spinners has to be expected and handled by international Batsmen #INDvSA #BadriBytes

Since when did Test players detest sitting on grass during ‘drinks’ interval..??!!! Now we see chairs & Umbrellas being carried on to the field fr players’ comfort…I presume….!!!!!

Indian fast bowlers are consistently out-bowling their counterparts. In India and abroad. Can’t remember a more potent Indian Test bowling attack till date. #IndvSA
