The second T20 International of the India v England series at Kanpur turned out to be a humdinger of a contest. In what was some serious nail biting stuff, Indian bowlers managed to keep their nerves to pull off a sensational victory over England to level the series 1-1 and Bangalore will now decide the winner.

Earlier in the day, it was captain Eoin Morgan who won the toss as the visitors elected to field first. Put into bat, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul began steadily. While Kohli got a start, he failed to convert it as he mistimed one to long on. The other batsmen failed to adapt. While wickets kept falling at the one end, KL Rahul kept firm hold at the other end.

Playing a one-man show on a pitch where batsmen struggled to put bat to ball, KL Rahul scored a scintillating 71 runs from 47 balls. On the other hand, the dismal show by the Indian batsmen didn’t help India’s run tally, as they could just settle for 144/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Chris Jordan was splendid and his bowling figures of 3/22 were a proof of that.

England openers looked good before Ashish Nehra struck on consecutive balls to send both of them back to the pavilion. While Joe Root tried to hold on from one end, Ben Stokes brought England really close to the brinks of victory.

However, both Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah really bowled their hearts out. With the equation 8 off 6 being quite easy for England, Bumrah bowled brilliantly and conceded just 2 runs and also took a wicket. With this win, India stay afloat in the series.

Twitter kept everyone entertained with some hilarious, statistical tweets describing the happenings. Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:
