The stage was set for the final showdown of the England tour to India. Bengaluru was the most ideally suited venue for the ultimate match of the series. The shorter boundaries, the shortest format and the red fortress turned into sea of blue – it was all a perfect match in the making. The Virat Kohli-led side did not disappoint one bit in the match. They totally outclassed the English team in all the three departments to win the series 2-1. That ended a poor tour for team England.
They were drubbed 4-0 in the Test series, faced a 2-1 defeat in the ODIs and now had to suffer a 2-1 loss in the T20Is. Coming into the game, England won the toss and opted to field first. Clearly, they had their homework done and knew that the sides batting second fancy their chances at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. India were rocked hard early in their innings with skipper Virat Kohli perishing to a run-out. KL Rahul followed him soon after. It was all a Suresh Raina-MS Dhoni show from thereon.
The two veteran batsmen notched up their individual fifties en route their 55-run stand. Dhoni’s fifty was his first ever in the history of T20Is – his previous best being 48. Raina mustered 63 off mere 45 balls and Dhoni plundered 56 off just 36 deliveries. Add a bit of Yuvraj Singh cameo to it, and one gets the ingredients for a 200-plus total. Yuvraj’s blitz saw him stay at the crease for 10 balls and end up with 27 runs. India posted 202/6 in their stipulated 20 overs.
The England innings started off with Ashish Nehra bowling a maiden first up and Yuzvendra Chahal sending Sam Billings for a golden duck. Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan and Joe Root, all got starts but none could do a Dhoni or a Raina for England. Chahal ripped through the English batting to scalp 6/25 and was well supported by Bumrah’s 3/14 as India won by 75 runs.

If Burglars break into Chahal's house, instead of calling Police, he'll call Dhoni first.
