Asia Cup 2022: Twitter stunned with Hardik Pandya getting out for second-ball duck against Pakistan

India and Pakistan are currently involved in a tense encounter in the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup in Dubai. After opting to bowl first, the Men in Green were stunned looking at the aggressive approach from the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. India also registered their best ever powerplay score, 62, against Pakistan in a T20I.

However, Pakistan hit back well picking up wickets at regular intervals. Interestingly, runs came at a fair clip as well with India continuing their approach. Moreover, after Rishabh Pant's wicket fell, many were expecting for the hero from the last Indo-Pak encounter, Hardik Pandya, to step up for the team and make the difference.

However, that wasn't the case. The all-rounder from Baroda couldn't contribute a single run to the scoreboard and was dismissed for a second-ball duck by Mohammad Hasnain who came into the Pakistan team for this game after Shahnawaz Dahani got ruled out due to an injury.

Hardik Pandya registered his third duck in T20Is

It was a body blow for India as they lost two quick wickets with Rishabh Pant also getting dismissed an over earlier. This was only the third duck for Hardik Pandya in T20Is and interestingly, all three have been second-ball ducks for him. His first duck had also come against Pakistan back in 2016, the year he made his debut in international cricket while the other one came in 2017 against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya will be hoping to contribute with the ball now as India will be defending a total this time around, a difficult proposition in Dubai, especially in the shortest format. The fans, however, were disappointed with his early dismissal as they were eager to watch his hitting with the death overs approaching.
